Field Frame Friday: Land-ho Captain!

This by-the-wind sailor’s (Velella velella) only locomotion is their small sail that catches the wind and helps them float along the ocean’s surface. On the coast of California during springtime, you can often find stranded Velellas that get pushed ashore after seasonal storms or windy days.
