Hello from your Field Series editors! We just wanted to pop in and say that 2020 was a difficult year for researchers all over the globe. For many of us animal behaviorists that rely on collaborators, animal managers, interns, and others in the academic and non-academic community for help and support, COVID required us to put our fieldwork on hold to protect the safety of our community. Though it has been a challenge, we have all learned and grown from this experience and we acknowledge that we are privileged to continue to survive through this Pandemic and be able to continue our other work through the university. Many have not been so lucky in 2020.

Though we (Maggie and Karli) both had to delay some animal behavior projects we had lined up for 2020, we got VERY into observing our respective pet rabbits (Oliver – white and gray; Lala – tan and white). Although we are excited to start up fieldwork again sometime in 2021, we have cherished our furry and inquisitive Work From Home buddies throughout this wild year.
